Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that we all go in and out of several times a day, whether we're aware of it or not. Becoming engrossed in a movie, or spacing out while driving are both examples of light hypnosis. In hypnosis, we are in contact with the subconscious mind, which handles our memories, feelings, imagination and even our habits or automatic thinking. In a hypnotic trance, it becomes really easy to work with this inner material, releasing negativity from old memories, expressing buried feelings, or using the imagination to heal old wounds or create a better future.
Hypnotherapy is easy, safe and downright pleasant.
I have been practicing hypnotherapy since 1999, helping thousands of individuals overcome
their personal obstacles.
What I specialize in: Insomnia, recovery from trauma, PTSD, anxiety, childhood regression, self-esteem issues, codependency, and helping couples with fertility, IVF, childbirth and post-birth trauma release.
What I do NOT focus on: Weight loss, eating disorders and active addictions (if you're in a recovery program,
I can provide added tools and support).
Perhaps you've seen movies that show individuals who are hypnotized, rendered powerless zombies. These representations, which are designed to entertain and move the plot along, are not only inaccurate, they actually show the opposite of what happens during hypnosis. Sure, you may be deeply relaxed, but you will be more aware and more in control when in a hypnotic trance than when you are functioning from your conscious mind. In hypnosis, your mind becomes very focused and you become tuned in to your inner world. You will remember everything, and yes, you are hypnotizable; most everyone is. It's just a matter of how you get into hypnosis, not whether or not you can.
"Jessica has the most amazing, loving energy. You feel so safe in her voice. She’s also super smart and skilled at navigating the psyche. I love her so much."

"I met Jessica in her cooking class on the Holistic Health cruise and was impressed with her sense of humor. In another workshop I learned that she did hypnosis. She was in such demand that I couldn't book a session on board so we arranged a Facetime session. Jessica has a calm, warm, down to earth manner that put me at ease as I explained my need with a physical issue. Her help was so effective that I continue to use her prompts to this day. She sent me a recording of our session that I can refer to as needed. I recommend Jessica without reservation!"
"I am so grateful to Jessica Porter who got me started with Hypnobirthing. I had had a birthing experience I didn't want, like most of us, as birth doesn't go according to a plan. I am so grateful she guided me through a hypnosis to release the discomfort and pain I was carrying from the birth. Afterwards I felt peace in my heart and at peace that the birthing experience was exactly what I needed."

"I’ve been working with Jessica for 10 years, 5 babies, 2 surgeries, insomnia and a beastly battle with sugar addiction. I listened to Jessica’s voice to help me deliver my first child in four hours, my second child I had her in person and it was my only birth that was painless ( no medication). It was so gentle, my son was born still inside his unruptured sac. I listened to her for the last three and even waiting in the delivery room watching our adopted baby being born, her voice soothes me through that. She’s helped me battle my sugar addiction and has helped me get some great nights sleep. Her voice has soothes me through life’s tumult and I don’t know a more loving and funny soul."

"I worked with Jessica for Hypnobirthing 21 years ago and still remember her wonderful skill, grace, and gifted healing practice. I highly recommend her to all and am thrilled she will now have an online presence... I'll send my therapy clients her way for adjunct trauma and anxiety work! hurrah for a covid silver lining ✨
